Ailie Robertson ~ Clàrsach
10th, 11th and 12 October 2008 The philosophy behind 'Harp 2 Ewe' is simple - good teaching with a variety of excellent tutors, carrying on the tradition in pleasant surroundings with excellent food to sustain the sessions, giving opportunities to play and learn in a safe environment. Music is supposed to be fun and learning should be too! Hard work, good humour, good food and good music - what more could you ask for?
The courses take place at Sea Croft, Mellon Charles, Wester Ross just 300 yards from the beautiful Loch Ewe with views to Loch Ewe, the Torridons, the Great Wilderness and the Minches. The atmosphere is extremely relaxed and friendly, and the courses are planned by the tutors so that they are as enjoyable and rewarding for everyone from beginners to more advanced players. The mid-afternoon finish for teaching sessions allows plenty of time to unwind, enjoy and explore the area - there are several longer walks through the surrounding coastline and moor land but there are also some nice places to visit locally. The teaching is aurally based, following the traditional way of teaching Clàrsach, so notational reading skills are not essential, but don't worry - written music will be provided for you to go home with. The courses are as inclusive as possible. ALL Standards will be catered for: The Tutors are highly skilled professionals. Relaxed and
informal Cèilidhs in the evenings offer further opportunities to play
and share tunes and stories together (entertainment in the true spirit
